Privacy Policy

1. RESERVATIONS & DINING DURATION
  • Fridays & Saturdays: bookings before 7:45 pm are for 2 hours.

  • Sundays: booking at 3pm or before are for 2 hours (excluding special days).

  • Special day: all bookings are for 2 hours.


2. DEPOSITS

Sunday – Thursday

  • Groups of 7 guests or more: £10 per person.

Friday

  • Before 6:30 pm: £10 per person for 7 guests or over.

  • After 6:30 pm: £10 per person.

Saturday

  • Before 4:00 pm (Brunch): £20 per person non-refundable and non-transferable. If any guest cancels at any time or does not attend, that individual’s deposit is forfeited.

  • At 4:00 pm or after: £10 per person for 7 guests or over.

  • At 6:30 pm or after: £10 per person for any reservations.

Special event days

  • Deposits are determined according to the event.

  • Deposits are deducted from the final bill and may be retained if cancellation terms are not met.

  • Deposits can be paid by phone (01708 479 400) or in person at the restaurant.

  • For bookings not requiring a deposit, an attendance confirmation must be done the latest by 2:00 pm on the day of the booking (or the previous day). Unconfirmed tables may be released.

PLEASE NOTE: Management reserves the right to request an earlier deposit if necessary.


3. TABLE ARRANGEMENT
  • Groups of 12 guests or more may be split across two tables in the same area of the restaurant.Tables will be placed as close together as possible, but we cannot guarantee that they will be directly adjacent — sometimes they may be positioned back-to-back depending on layout and availability.

Seating requests

  • We will always try to accommodate table or area requests, but these cannot be guaranteed unless private dining is booked.


4. CANCELLATIONS & RUNNING LATE

(Excluding brunch and special date bookings)

  • Under 10 guests: 48 hours’ notice.

  • 10–14 guests: 72 hours’ notice.

  • 15+ guests or private/function rooms: 2 weeks’ notice.

  • Deposits may be retained if notice requirements are not met.

  • All cancellation must be made in writing only via email in**@***************ar.com

Running late & no-show

  • Please call if you are delayed. Tables are held for 15 minutes past your booking time; after this, tables may be released and deposits forfeited.

  • A no-show is defined as failing to arrive without notice.


5. ENTRY & RESPONSIBLE SERVICE

Age restrictions

  • Fridays & Saturdays after 8:00 pm: guests must be 6 years or older.

  • Saturdays (Brunch, 12:00–4:00 pm): guests must be 15 years or older, for safety reasons.

  • Private dining bookings: no age restrictions apply.

Alcohol service

  • In line with our council licence, alcoholic drinks can only be served when the table has ordered at least one snack, appetizer, or side.

Behaviour

  • To protect comfort and safety, we may refuse entry or service or ask guests to leave if behaviour is disruptive.

ID Policy

  • We operate a Challenge 18 policy. If you look under 18, you will be asked to show proof of age.

  • Only original, physical photo ID is accepted (passport, driving licence, or PASS-approved card). We cannot accept photos, photocopies, or digital versions.

Dress code

  • Fridays & Saturdays after 7:00 pm and Saturdays before 4:00 pm: STRICTLY no hats/caps, swimwear, tracksuits, or flip-flops.

  • Entry may be declined if the dress code is not met, to maintain the comfort and atmosphere for all guests.


6. PERSONAL BELONGINGS
  • Please keep valuables with you. Management cannot accept responsibility for loss or damage.

  • Lost property is held for 7 days before disposal or donation.


7. FOOD ALLERGIES & INTOLERANCES

We take care to cater for allergies; however, our kitchen handles all major allergens and cross-contamination may occur.
Guests with severe allergies should speak to the manager before ordering, as some dishes may not be suitable.

Outside food & drink

  • Not permitted. Birthday cakes are welcome, but SORTIE cannot accept liability for allergens or handling.


8. MUSIC & ENTERTAINMENT

(Entertainment times and performers are indicative and subject to change)

  • On Friday and Saturday evenings, we regularly host live music, usually scheduled between 9:00 pm and 11:45 pm.

  • Start and finish times may vary, and performances may begin earlier or finish sooner.

  • While we schedule specific singers and musicians, unforeseen circumstances may mean a change of performer at short notice.

  • Personal or external music systems are not permitted.


9. PHOTOGRAPHY & FILMING
  • Filming and photography may take place at SORTIE to be used for our social media content. By entering, you consent to being recorded.


10. DECORATIONS & CELEBRATIONS
  • You’re very welcome to bring your own decorations for your celebration.

  • If you plan to hang banners, please use Blu-Tack only — no Sellotape or adhesives on walls or fixtures.

  • Confetti are not permitted anywhere in the restaurant.

  • Candles: Standard cake candles are welcome, and our team will light them safely. STRICTLY no sparklers or sparkling candles.

  • Balloons: Helium balloons must be secured with weights.

Please note that while you’re welcome to bring personal items (including decorations, cakes, or other belongings), our restaurant cannot assume responsibility for loss, theft, damage, or safety of these items. By bringing them, you accept full responsibility for their care, setup, and removal.


11. SERVICE CHARGE
  • A mandatory 12.5% service charge applies to all Brunch bookings.

  • A mandatory 12.5% service charge applies to any reservations of 7 guests or more (excluding Brunch bookings).

  • A discretionary 12.5% service charge applies to all bookings under 7 guests or fewer (excluding brunch booking).


12. PETS
  • We love animals, but for the comfort and safety of all our guests, only certified service dogs are permitted at SORTIE.

  • Unfortunately, no other pets are allowed inside the venue or on the terrace.


13. GIFT VOUCHERS
  • Valid for 6 months from the purchase date.

  • Must be presented on arrival and used in a single visit.

  • Not refundable, not exchangeable for cash, and no change given.

  • Lost or expired vouchers cannot be replaced.
